Cloud Printing with the PogoPlug
Jun 30th
The very popular PogoPlug is getting an upgrade! As resellers of the PogoPlug in the UK we thought you maybe interested in this!
Pocket lint reports the following:
hard-drive based cloud service Pogoplug has got in on the email printing game by adding a feature whereby you can plug in any post-2005 HP or Epson printer and print remotely.
The service works along the same lines as the HP ePrint range. You simply email what you want to be printed to a dedicated email address for your Pogoplug and, as long as it’s switched on and also connected to your Pogoplug, it will print. That means printing from not only your laptop, but also your phone, tablet or any other email capable device.
“Pogoplug’s vision is to free the modern digital lifestyle from dependence on an always-on home or office computer”, said Daniel Putterman, CEO and co-founder of Cloud Engines, Inc.
“First we changed the way people think about personal storage by making every hard drive accessible over the Internet. Now we’re web-enabling printers”.
Pogoplug’s printing option will be coming our way by the end of the summer and it’s free for all Pogoplug users.
Pretty cool huh?
Check out the PogoPlug in our store – its pink and very good!

SHOWWX Pico Projector on You Tube
Jun 9th
Ethan Janson has gone to the extreme with his SHOWWX and built an unnamed contraption that holds his iPhone 3GS, a Microvision SHOWWX and a point-and-shoot camera. Put simply, the handmade gagdet allows him to play his iPhone games on a far larger screen, and since the SHOWWX is continually in focus regardless of distance from walls, there’s never a blurring issue when flailing about in order to control the gameplay – the full info can be found here: http://picoproject.wordpress.com/

Jun 5th
The multi aware winning Sonos S5 is now available in black as well as white.
The Sonos Zoneplayer S5 is an impressive bit of kit but if white didn’t fit in well with the colour scheme you picked for your room then it stuck out like a sore thumb, well now you have a new option.
The Sonos Zoneplayer S5 in black is exactly the same as the previous white-clad version so you’ll be able to use it to stream music over Wi-Fi from your PC or network attached storage. It also has an analogue input for plugging your iPod or other MP3 players in the back and a built-in 5-driver speaker system so there’s no need to hook it up to a sound system.
You can also still control the Sonos Zoneplayer S5 black version with the free Sonos iPhone app on your iPhone or iPod Touch as well as the Sonos CR-200 remote and access streaming music services from Last.fm, Deezer and Napster.
The key features of the Sonos S5 include:

“We’re thrilled to expand our product portfolio to include the S5 in black,” said Phil Abram, President, Sonos, Inc. “We felt it was important to offer our customers a choice when designing their perfect Sonos setup for different rooms of their home.”

But then I found the Microvision SHOWWX, and my faith in video gnomes was restored.

YouTube Coming Back to the A200/C200
May 11th
Missed Youtube? own a A200 or C200? then lucky you! Steve Young from Syabas posted the following on the NMT forums.
Yes we will be bringing Youtube back to the A-200 and C-200. It will be delivered as an application similar to that of Rev3 and other apps right now.
A-100/A-110′s will not have it because we can only deliver the Flash Version of Youtube, and can no longer support the html version.

XBMC Running on a Popcorn Hour
May 11th
A clever chap called EJP posted a rather interesting video of his handy work. EJP has got XBMC up and running on the NMT platform, the video below shows off XBMC on a Popcor
n Hour A110 so just think how fast it would be on a A200!
You can check out all the info over at the networked media tank forums – be sure to keep an eye out for updates!
On a personal note all I have wanted since I sold my xbox was XBMC up and running on a media player without the hassle of a HTPC.
I was mostly inactive for the last few months (for those who noticed) because of this. To keep it under wraps, I decided to work mostly alone and seek help outside of the NMT community. Naturally, XBMC needs no introduction.
With Flash Lite GUIs in development, I felt I needed to completely trump all current GUIs and jukeboxes. All the work was completely done. We just needed to get it to “work.”
Early on, I realized that if I could get this working, this would certainly revolutionize the NMT. If you think about it, we would be instantly backed by the entire XBMC community. That’s 7 years of development and a 50,000+ userbase.
I can’t go much into detail about this project as this is still in beta. It is close enough to completion that I can offer this to beta testers, but it will be extremely closed, even more so than the Alaska beta (for those who remember). If all goes well, a first public release should be within reach.
All I can discuss is what’s in the video:
1. I am running a version of XBMC Live via USB. However, it should just as easilly be installed to an internal hard drive.
2. The default interface (Confluence) can sometimes be sluggish, but optimizing XBMC and the skin is in the works. Simpler skins, such as Alaska, should run smoother. As mentioned, this is an extremely closed beta. This means:
1. I will NOT be accepting candidates for beta testers. Instead, I will be messaging YOU, offering you a position on the beta testing team. Please do not ask why I haven’t chosen you. Please do not take it personally if I don’t choose you.
2. I will only speak about development to beta testers, whoever they might be. You can ask as many questions as you like, but I can only guarantee answers to beta testers.
3. I will not be posting the list of beta testers, so beta testers must interact directly with me only.
We expect a public beta test soon, so finally the A200/C200 gets a good UI

We have moved.
May 4th
Where have we been? well to be honest very very busy.
At work we completed the gadget show, and managed to move the entire company to Systems House, Gogmore lane, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 9AP. All this has been keeping us busy bee’s and we would like 5 minutes to sit down and do some work
We have some funky new hard drives, Sonos gear and cube mp3 player’s to tell you all about.
Anyway a few boxes left to unpack and a host of little issues to fix but other than that it’s all looking good.
Oh the broadband has been rubbish so our voip phones are having some issues but NTL are on the case or so they tell me.

Best Media player(s) in April?
Apr 25th
Nothing has changed since March so the same advice applies, Three things to mention.
In the June 2010 edition of T3 the Mede8er win’s the media player test and in the “Overall” listing at the back of the mag it is just behind the WDTV, I have no idea why as it is better (honest! it is..) check out page 117 of T3.
2.
New firmware for the Mede8er v3 is in the works and beta users can get hold of it to have a go. I like the little eyes that display after you have watched something, very handy if watching an entire season of a show so you know what episode you are on. Also the UI has had a paint job and polish.
3.
New Popcorn Hour C200 firmware at RC3..hit the read more for the boring bits..
