The award winning MED500X is the latest generation Multimedia Player specially developed for today’s demanding media enthusiast. The Mede8er has been designed for media playback from a hard drive, USB device, SD Card, Internet or Local Network source. The User Interface is neat and intuitive without being complicated.
And the Mede8er just keeps getting better – After 3 beta’s the final version if finally here – go forth and download!
The best feature imo is the cool “eyes” telling me what I have already watched, very handy when making my way through a box set of DVD rips and I can never remember what number I was on.
You may see a few notes on the new functionality if you follow this link.
Please proceed to the downloads board for links to the latest firmware. (Note – forum registration required)

CES: SHOWWX Laser Projector for iPhone
At times, it felt like little video gnomes had snuck into CES, and stashed tiny iPhone compatible projectors all over the place—and most of them sucked—out of focus, colors from hell and the luminance of a black hole. But then I found the Microvision SHOWWX, and my faith in video gnomes was restored.

We have moved.
May 4th
Where have we been? well to be honest very very busy.
At work we completed the gadget show, and managed to move the entire company to Systems House, Gogmore lane, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 9AP. All this has been keeping us busy bee’s and we would like 5 minutes to sit down and do some work
We have some funky new hard drives, Sonos gear and cube mp3 player’s to tell you all about.
Anyway a few boxes left to unpack and a host of little issues to fix but other than that it’s all looking good.
Oh the broadband has been rubbish so our voip phones are having some issues but NTL are on the case or so they tell me.

Best Media player(s) in April?
Apr 25th
Nothing has changed since March so the same advice applies, Three things to mention.
In the June 2010 edition of T3 the Mede8er win’s the media player test and in the “Overall” listing at the back of the mag it is just behind the WDTV, I have no idea why as it is better (honest! it is..) check out page 117 of T3.
2.
New firmware for the Mede8er v3 is in the works and beta users can get hold of it to have a go. I like the little eyes that display after you have watched something, very handy if watching an entire season of a show so you know what episode you are on. Also the UI has had a paint job and polish.
3.
New Popcorn Hour C200 firmware at RC3..hit the read more for the boring bits..

Best Media player(s) in March?
Mar 8th
If we had a penny for every phone call asking us what media player is the best one to buy we would have enough for a giant size Kit Kat each day
The best media player is a tough one, every forum or review will always have someone who has a negative comment, normally Mr Angry venting his lack of understanding at a poor little media player. It’s not often someone takes time out to write something positive. This makes picking a media player hard work, because as soon as you have made your mind up after weeks of research you read about someone’s bad time with the model you are after.
Unfortunately there is no perfect media player, otherwise we would just sell the one option and leave it at that. As it is we constantly review our media player line up, hence we just said good bye to the WDTV live and Asus Oplay regardless of how well they sold.

Viva Las Vegas – CES Here We Come
Jan 6th
Well I say “we” but only two lu
cky members of staff get to enjoy the 11 hour plane trip and taste the joys of Las Vegas.
These brave souls make this sacrifice to bring us news from the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In between gambling and roof top pool parties we hope our work colleges come back with info on the products we will be selling this year as well as a host of new contacts.
About CES
With more than four decades of success, the International CES reaches across global markets, connects the industry and enables CE innovations to grow and thrive.
The International CES is produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the preeminent trade association promoting growth in the consumer technology industry. CEA represents more than 2,000 corporate members involved in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and integration of consumer electronics products. All profits from CES are reinvested into industry services, including technical training and education, industry promotion, engineering standards development, market research and legislative advocacy.
Either way this disgruntled blogger didn’t get to go so i hope they have a miserable time in the sun (17c!)

DSi Firmware 1.5 Do Not Update
Jan 5th
There are some rumours on various forums that the big N is rolling out firmware 1.5 – now we all know what happened when 1.4 hit so make sure you decline any updates for now.
Nintendo has rolled out a new firmware revision for their latest incarnation of their line of Nintendo DS portable video gaming consoles. It seems v1.5 of their firmware blocks flashcards again which means you can either turn on off the Wifi or wait for a fix. Not is much known about other enhancements other then the anti-flashcard fix
“Yes, we are the first evidence of the release of a new firmware for the DSi (1.5) which seems to block all the flashcards are currently for sale: waiting for updates from our entire staff’s advice is to not upgrade and wait to be understood whether and how to get around the obstacle and continue to use the latest Nintendo handheld with flashcards in our possession.”
So as always do not update your DSi or your flash card will not work.

No News Is Good News?
Jan 4th
In this case no news meant everyone was so busy packing up media players and DS cards no one had time for fun but our team of elves did enjoy a peaceful holiday season.
So now all that is out of the way for another year we have a host of news and guides to write up.
It’s all go..
Have a Happy 2010, did you know the United Nations has designated 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity and International Year of Youth. Oh and England win the world cup…

Due To Postal Strikes Across The Country Orders Maybe Delayed
Oct 9th
Bad news everyone, due to current strikes across the country orders maybe delayed which is beyond our control.
Royal Mail postal workers have voted to take strike action over job security and working conditions.
They voted three to one in favour of action, with 61,623 out of a total of 80,830 workers who voted saying they wanted to strike.
But the Royal Mail said 60% of the total number of postal workers working in the UK did not vote to strike.
The company and unions have been unable to resolve differences on how best to modernise the postal service.
