How To Upgrade DSTTi Firmware to support DSi firmware 1.4

Updated your DSi to 1.4 firmware and need to get the DSTTi working? No problem.

What you will need to update your DSTTi Card to work with 1.4:

• A DSi Console with Firmware lower than 1.4X (1.4E, 1.4J, 1.4U & 1.4A) e.g 1.3 or 1.2
• If you dont have a DSi with pre 1.4 firmware you can use a DS Lite Console.
• A DSTTi Card with V1.17 software available here.
• The DSTTi Update for DSi firmware 1.4 from here.
• Winrar from http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm this will extract the files for you and is a very handy bit of software to have.

If you already have the 1.17 software/kernel installed then you can go straight to extracting the 1.4 firmware. 

If you have not installed the 1.17 software onto the micro sd card then follow this guide and then come back here.

At this stage you should have a Micro SD card with the DSTTi 1.17 software installed – keep the micro SD card in the adapter you will need it in a moment.

Select the downloaded DSTTi 1.4 update file and right click it and select extract to DSTTi_v1.4_firmware.

Once extracted double click the folder created and you will see 3 files (see picture below).

1. rom_pcb1.dat
2. rom_pcb2.dat
3. TTi14UPGRADE.nds

Copy these three files to the root of the Micro SD memory card  where the other DSTT files are. Your Micro SD card should looks like this:

• Place the Micro SD into the DSTTi Card and insert it into DSL/DSi console.
• Power up the console and select the DSTTi card.
• Select the Firmware file TTi14UPGRADE.nds (probably the only thing you can select).
• Follow the on screen instructions to complete the update.

Now you can use the DSTTi in DSi 1.4 consoles, you may want to delete the three 1.4 firmware update files from the micro sd card as you wont need them again (unless updating multiple DSTTi cards)

The DSTTi will now be displayed as “Star Wars Lethal Alliance” – don’t worry this is by design Enjoy homebrew and much more
