Synology Inc – A New NAS Experience

As we like to sell the best NAS products to make up part of the perfect digital home it would be rude of us not to include some models from Synology.

All the Synology Disk Stations are designed to provide users with a flexible solution to share files and increase productivity. Furthermore, users can also deploy 2.5″ hard drives on the Disk Stations making them more quiet saving even more power or go for standard 3.5″ drives.

We have three NAS systems available from Synology all designed for the digital Home or even a corporate workgroup the models in question are:

The best thing about all the Disk Stations is they come packed with the Synology Disk Station Manager 2.2, this delivers ease of use and variety of features via a very smart AJAX interface.

The AJAX User Interface

With the AJAX technology, the web user interface now becomes much faster, more user-friendly, and interactive.

Desktop

The desktop only displays the applications authorized to each user after login.

Wizards

With just a few clicks, Synology Disk Station Wizards helps both beginners and advanced users quickly set up some of the most popular features such as hosting websites, assigning privileges, sharing photos, and creating backup. Each wizard provides clear instructions and guides you in setting up your system that will save your precious time in managing your Synology Disk Station.

You can also switch to complete mode to see the entire list of features with a brief explanation of each function.

Shortcuts

Drag and drop your favorite features to the Home page in Wizard mode and create up to 10 shortcuts under My Favorites.

Shortcuts to DSM 2.2′s activated applications are placed on the top of the page, allowing you to easily switch to another application.

Fast Language Switch

DSM 2.2 currently supports 20 languages. Find the language you prefer and see not only the user interface but also email notifications in your language. You can also select a proper codepage for non-Unicode files to be displayed correctly.

The Options Button

By clicking Options, you can customize the automatic logout timer for the DSM 2.2 management UI port, and other preferences.

Quick Search

Enable the Quick Search Box at the bottom of the panel list, and enter the keyword to see the list of matching applications as you type.

When assigning privileges for users, groups, shared folders, or applications, type in the search box on the setting page to instantly locate the name you are looking for.
