The update process will not damage your Hard Drive contents but the Hard Drive will then be shown as HDD1 instead of C. If you are not using an internal Hard Drive than you can roll back to a earlier version without any problems
A) Do not update the Mede8er from the built-in update facility on the Setup screen;
B) If you experience Samba network connection problems we suggest you perform a “Restore Default” in setup Menu and re-boot the Mede8er.
C) After the Firmware is installed please re-boot the Mede8er – Unplug DC Jack and then re-plug;
D) Do not do a Firmware Restore to update your Mede8er settings across versions – rather input settings manually;

Best Media player(s) in April?
Apr 25th
Nothing has changed since March so the same advice applies, Three things to mention.
In the June 2010 edition of T3 the Mede8er win’s the media player test and in the “Overall” listing at the back of the mag it is just behind the WDTV, I have no idea why as it is better (honest! it is..) check out page 117 of T3.
2.
New firmware for the Mede8er v3 is in the works and beta users can get hold of it to have a go. I like the little eyes that display after you have watched something, very handy if watching an entire season of a show so you know what episode you are on. Also the UI has had a paint job and polish.

Best Media player(s) in March?
Mar 8th
If we had a penny for every phone call asking us what media player is the best one to buy we would have enough for a giant size Kit Kat each day
The best media player is a tough one, every forum or review will always have someone who has a negative comment, normally Mr Angry venting his lack of understanding at a poor little media player. It’s not often someone takes time out to write something positive. This makes picking a media player hard work, because as soon as you have made your mind up after weeks of research you read about someone’s bad time with the model you are after.
Unfortunately there is no perfect media player, otherwise we would just sell the one option and leave it at that. As it is we constantly review our media player line up, hence we just said good bye to the WDTV live and Asus Oplay regardless of how well they sold.

Mede8er 5 Star Review
Jan 4th
Unsure if the Mede8er is the network media player for you?
Well then what better way to convince you to part with your hard earned than a glowing 5 star review in Croatian, if like me the closest you have been to Croatia is watching England play an away game in Zagreb on the Beeb then you would find googles translation service handy Harry.

PS. Did you know the star rating for hotels is no indication of how good a hotel is. The ratings award stars based on facilities at the venue so it could be the worst hotel ever but have a pool and elevator and get a high rank. Just remember–the ratings on the outside of the building are based on an objective facilities and services provided assessment and are not in any way related to ambiance, charm or other subjective.

The Mede8er MED500X is causing a multimedia revolution. Every aspect of the MED500X truly exemplifies the “Power of Simplicity”. Sanji Electronics has developed the Mede8er MED500X to meet the expectations of today’s demanding media enthusiast.
Consumers want a player that enables them to enjoy every popular audio and video format in their collection. They want a player that gives them the flexiblity to stream media from the Internet and from sources on their LAN. They also want the convenience of being able to store their collections on the player and the versatility of being able to access USB devices and their camera’s SD card. However, at the same time, consumers expect their media player be user friendly, family friendly, and to provide rock-solid performance.
Sanji Electronics has listened to the consumer and has designed the Mede8er MED500X with them in mind.
What’s the best today might not be anymore tomorrow however if we stick to today… all I can say is if you are looking for affordable, good, robust, jam packed and well presented… this is it today!
Hi-Jack, Senior Editor, MPC-Club
The simple presentation includes a carrying bag, Wireless N USB stick (for Europe) and a complete package from A to Z. A big fan, very silent, NFS and SMB both integrated and overall features are well done and mature.
Hi-Jack, Senior Editor, MPC-Club
Does the Mede8er deliver as a comprehensive solution for multimedia content storage, access and playback? Yes it does. More importantly, the interface is the best we’ve come cross, while the player’s decoding and processing capabilities are top drawer. Yes sir: I’m keeping this box of tricks!
