The Popcorn Hour A-200 is the world's original Networked Media Tank. It allows you to stream rich-media digital video, audio and photos from your PC, storage device, home network or the Internet to your HDTV or home theater setup. Popcorn Hour gives you total control over your digital media experience
The Digital Streamer That Is More Advanced
The A200 lets users stream content found on a wide array of devices, whether we're talking about computers, NAS units, USB flash drives, and much more. It supports several media server options (myiHome, myiHomeLite, myiHomeMS UPnP, MSP Portal), third-party media servers such as WizD, SwissCenter, Llink, GB-PVR, and also incorporates a BitTorrent P2P client and Usenet downloader, the download clients will only work with an internal hard drive installed. An internal bay supports both 2.5- and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives.
The Popcorn Hour also provides extensive file type and codec compatibility (see the tech spec at the bottom of this page). The A200 plays the most important file types including MPEG1/2/4 Elementary (M1V, M2V, M4V), MPEG1/2 PS (M2P, MPG, DAT, VOB), MPEG2 Transport Stream (TS, TP, TRP, M2T, M2TS, MTS), AVI, ASF, WMV and Matroska (MKV), while audio supports includes AAC, M4A, MPEG audio (MP1, MP2, MP3, MPA), WAV, WMA, FLAC and OGG.
The Popcorn Hour also makes it easy to download and stream content directly from popular Internet sites like Videocast, CNET TV, CBS/CNN channels and dozens of other online content sites*.
The A200 has one of the latest chipsets available, so it is fast! It also comes with a Gigabit network port - of course you don’t need Gigabit speeds for streaming HD content, 100Mbps is fine, so you don’t need to rush out and buy a new switch.
One good thing about the Gigabit port is if you choose to keep your content on an internal hard drive then it will make transferring files to the A200 a lot quicker but we suggest you stream from a PC or NAS as hard drives in media players can cause extra noise that is often unwelcome in a front room.
